The Armed Eye Film
and Theatre Company is proud to announce the forthcoming
nationwide tour of our new show "Framed". This eighty minute
comedy explores how film works. Starting with the first
experiments in Montage in Russia in the early 1900's, the show
takes the audience through the gradual discovery of how film
went from a form of theatre to a unique art form in it's own
right. The show is aimed specifically at film as part of the
Leaving Certificate English course.
The show is written and
performed by actor/director/comedian Ger Carey. Originally a
graduate of The Bradford Theatre, Leeds University and the
National University of Wales in Cardiff, Ger went on to
work as an actor in the UK before returning to his native Carlow
to establish the Armed Eye Company in 1997.
The Armed Eye
is an active production company producing films in the South
East. Our last film, "October 2nd" , was shot in the region two
years ago and was the first 35mm feature film shot in Carlow.
Our first major film project, "Flatland", goes into
pre-production this summer. The film is written by Ger. He will
also direct the film.
Since the Armed Eye
established in 1997 we have taken film workshops out to schools
across the country in addition to giving talks on film for
Leaving Certificate. Ger has worked with thousands of secondary
students over the years and it is this experience that he brings
to "Framed".

laughter and knowledge. The perfect way to learn!
